On the 1st / 2nd July, the Canvey Swim Squad descended upon the Basildon Sporting Village in force for the End of Season Gala hosted by Romford Swimming Club. Canvey being represented by swimmers, ages 9 through to 17. Coaches Paul and Mark supported the squad and Team Managers Andrea, Amanda and Teri ensured the weekend ran smoothly. The event gave the squad members the chance to chase down a PB or two and “WOW……THEY SMASHED IT!!!!!”. The team raced in 30 of the 32 events and brought back PBs in all 30 in at least one of the age groups and brought a medal home in nearly all events. A fantastic weekend of racing, the team atmosphere was electric and the team not only demonstrated amazing skills ion the water, but also behaved excellently poolside and showed an ever improving team bond………….WELL DONE CANVEY!!!!!!!!
