A lovely sunny Autumnal day and Canvey descended upon the Basildon Phoenix Autumn Qualifier in force.
The team consisted of some newcomers too, having Layla and Will entering their very first gala and swimming brilliantly with great composure.
The team spirit was again electric with the squad singing along to the music during the break also breaking out some coordinated dancing to YMCA & Wigfield……luckily for us, I think it is fair to say that the kids won’t be poached by any local dancing clubs 😉
They did swim their hearts out though, showing off their skills learnt during practice nights. Out of the 131 events raced, the squad earned 90PBs, gaining 31 medals in the process. Medal details below.

All of the squad behaved brilliantly, showing amazing team support and the smiles were out in force…….Some excellent swimming from the squad with the statistics above speaking for themselves.
As we approach the busy period of the Swim Season from a Gala perspective, we’re really looking forward to see what swimmers will achieve this season!!!!!
